On January 17, 2025, es was that time es : Trainees from twelve regional companies competed in the ninth edition of the Harting Trainee Cup in the Rundturnhalle in Espelkamp. Once again this year, a team from Kesseböhmer, representing a range of professions and years of training, took part and was supported on site by numerous fans.
In preparation for the tournament, coach Lukas Klußmann invited his protégés to an intensive training and team-building session in the Wimmer multi-purpose hall. The team consisted of Christopher Gahl, Raffael Stab, Lenn Katzky, Bennet Fortmann, Mathis Klußmann, Thejs Krieger, Mathis Krause, Max Huge, Rocco Ehm, Gian Luca Wessel, Thomas Wanner and the co-trainers Nils Sieksmeyer and Niklas Hille.
After fighting their way to the quarterfinals in the last few editions of the tournament, it was clear from the outset that a top performance would be needed to advance this time around in a truly "group of death," in which two multiple winners of the Azubi Cup, Merkur and Hettich, awaited the Kesseböhmer team. Unfortunately, a partially newly formed Kesseböhmer team did not achieve the required level of performance. Although they were able to improve from game to game during the tournament and never gave up even when behind, at the end of the group stage they still had three clear defeats and were eliminated early from the tournament. The team found comfort and encouragement from the numerous fans who had traveled with them after this rather disappointing tournament. Thanks in part to this support, all es players and coaches once again es representing Kesseböhmer at the tournament es year. We would like to thank you very much for your support!
We would also like to thank Harting for their excellent organization of the tournament, as always, and all participating teams for their fair play throughout the competition. Our congratulations also go to the trainees from Merkur, who won the tournament in the final against the trainees from Häcker Küchen. Now es the Kesseböhmer trainee team to regroup and draw the right conclusions from this year's tournament so that they can come back stronger next year and build on their previous successes.
