Punching is our most important metal forming process with which we can form sheet metal without cutting. Punching, also known as pressing, is particularly suitable for processing sheet metal parts that have to be provided with a high number of recurring forming elements. In the forming process, recesses, threads, gills and beads are introduced.
For punching, we use braked reel systems with which we can process coil material with a thickness of 0.8 mm to 6 mm. The maximum coil width is 1,000 mm. Tools up to a size of 2,500 x 4,500 mm can be mounted.
The presses work with a pressing force of 100 to 1,000 tons. We can manufacture with progressive dies as well as transfer dies. Through our subsidiary Schwarz, we have presses with a pressing force of up to 3,000 tons and a maximum table size of 5,000 x 3,000 mm.
We mainly use punching processes when sheet metal parts need to be produced in large quantities and with identical shaped elements. And this is precisely where punching sheet metal is clearly superior to other cutting methods such as the laser edging process.
With our own tool shop, we can respond flexibly to different customer requirements and thus implement both build-to-print and development projects. We also act here as a system supplier.
